About Fayza

My Name is Fayza Ahmed, I am From Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, I am 33 years old Mother of three Beautiful Kids, and we live in South Africa Johannesburg.

I was born and raised in Addis Ababa Capital City of Ethiopia, when I reached the age of 12, I travelled to Middle East Saudi Arabia to start living with My Mother, after three years of living in Middle East I then travelled again to South Africa where my extended families are living, I fall in love with South Africa, and get Married complete my Education and build my Nest since 2008 but not yet sure if this is the place that I am looking for to call home.

My First-born daughter thought me how to tolerate things that I don’t like and move on in life no matter what the situation is.

My Second born Boy thought me how to be loved and embrace my imperfection and that to the eyes of your loved once u r the perfect person no matter what you do.

My last-born daughter thought me how to enjoy my good and bad days and the experiences that I had accumulated in my past life after all they are both parts of my life and they are the one who made me who I am today.

postpartum trauma is not an easy experience specially for a woman that has no support system, it requires a great amount of emotional and mental strength.

one of the negative impacts of being Refugee is that becoming lonely without any family support system in the land of even the way you breath counts as a strange activity. However, these two factors (postpartum trauma and being Refugee) are the reason of my pondering deep into myself, they make me reform myself and listen to my Depper voice that I disregarded since my childhood, which is the yearn of becoming a crafty an artist and a designer lady.

that is how Laliiti Handmade was born from the buried ash of the love for crafting by the forceful push of the trauma.

The Born of Laliiti Handmade Crafting Business!

I would Love to share with you about my beading, resining and other types of craft making journey and how I have admired creativity and handmade work, right from childhood; how I tried learning beading skills epoxy resin and several crafting skills at my postpartum trauma period, which was a fruitful journey i suppose.

And how I eventually had the opportunity to learn the beading skill and epoxy Resining in 2018 when I had fallen pregnant with my first child at the age of 26.

Now, here is the catch!

Although I started beading Resining and crafting as a hobby, I later found out that beading epoxy resining and crafting business is one of the hottest businesses and that people are making thousands from it.

I also got to know that there is a high demand for beaded products, and especially for epoxy wall art and kitchen wear crafted jewelry and bags; coupled with the fact that my lifetime friend advised me to turn it into a business citing that I make unique and quality beaded products and epoxy crafts and that there is so much money in the beading and crafting industry.

I looked around to see how top brands were making too much money from beading and crafting I started dancing like Michael Jackson danced and said to myself “crafting world here I come!”

But fear and challenges set in when I wanted to market and sell my beaded and crafting products. I couldn’t make the money that the leading brands were making. I guess I was too quick to jump into the pool.

It then dawns on me that having a beading and crafting skill is not enough to sustain my business.

I realized that those top brands that I admire are not in business because they know how to design, but because they know their ONION! And also, that they know how to build a business.

I yet said to myself “If these top brands can achieve this then I too can”.

See eh, it will be easier for you to get a solution to your challenges when you realize and acknowledge that you have the problems.

So, on realizing my challenges, I was able to find solutions to them. I enrolled on many courses both online and offline and also embarked on intensive research. And here I am today cashing out from my beading and crafting business

Though I have not attained all my goals but I’m not where I used to be. I changed, so many things changed around me for the better

and I Wish for you the same!
